The Zamalek Club foils the Saudi clubs plan to snatch José with an exciting decision

The board of directors of Zamalek Club, headed by Hussein Labib, foiled the plan of Saudi clubs to snatch the Portuguese José Gomes, the head coach of the first football team.

Gomes had received a Saudi offer to coach in the Saudi Professional League and leave his position as the head of Zamalek team in the past few days.

According to media reports, Zamalek's management officially informed Gomes that the contract clause for a new season has been activated before the Confederation Cup final match against Renaissance Berkane, regardless of the outcome of the first leg.

The decision of the White Castle officials came due to the strong belief in the efforts made by Gomes with the team since taking over the responsibility.

Zamalek had signed with José Gomes until the end of the next season, on condition of winning the African Confederation Cup title.

The Portuguese coach took over the White Knights in February last year and led them in 15 matches, winning 8, drawing 3, and losing 4.

The White Knights will face their Moroccan counterpart in the second leg of the African Confederation Cup final on Sunday, May 19th.

The match will kick off at 8:00 PM Cairo and Mecca time, at Cairo International Stadium.
