BREAKING Kiir declares state of emergency in Warrap and parts of Unity

JUBA – South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir Mayardit has declared a six-month state of emergency in Warrap State and Mayom County of Unity State.
The declaration, announced via republican decrees read on state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC), comes in response to a deteriorating security situation in these regions.
This measure, according to the decree, authorizes the deployment of security forces to the affected areas, enabling the government to take all necessary actions to address the instability in Warrap State and Mayom County.
