Sinnar:
The Sudan’s paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on Tuesday morning recaptured Jebel Moya region in Sinnar State of south central Sudan, trusted sources told Altaghyeer.
The RSF launched on Monday a surprise attack on the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) forward defenses in the region but the latter managed to regain its lost positions after a 7-hour fierce battle.
The RSF looted several villages in the region forcing residents to flee to Sinnar city, the sources said.
The granite massif Jebel Moya (Moya Mount) area is half way on the road linking between Sinnar State on the Blue Nile and the White Nile State.
Yesterday an informed source told Altaghyeer that the RSF will reattack the area with the aim of cutting this road and thus separating Kordofan region, in which the paramilitary controlled two cities, from the east Sudan where the de facto SAF-led government is operating.
