UK Switzerland Sign Agreement Aimed at Direct Rail Link 

Britain and Switzerland signed an agreement aimed at establishing a direct rail link between London and Switzerland, a government statement said on Friday.

The pair will set up a working group which will work out how to overcome the commercial, technical and security impediments to running services from Britain, through the Channel Tunnel, crossing France, and onto Switzerland.

Passengers from London can travel to Europe on direct services to Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam currently.
